Hi my friends! Today I am so excited to give you a tour of my bedroom. My style is shabby chic, with of course lots of blush pink touches! We redid my room a year or so ago and I am so happy with the way it turned out. I fell in love with the “Isabella” line of furniture by Young America at Stanley Furniture. Much to my disappointment the line had been discontinued. BUT… it ended up being a good thing because I was able to find all of my furniture on Craigslist for a super good bargain! We got it all for under $1000. Full price would have been over 10k!! We had to paint it, but that was OK because it gave us the opportunity to paint a few of the pieces a really pretty blue. Definitely don’t pay full price for furniture! If you are patient and keep looking on Craigslist the perfect thing will pop up!
As I adore Paris and LOVE to sew, you’ll notice quite a few special touches throughout the room.
These coasters are from Etsy and I have them scattered about as I am always sipping on something!
We also painted the bed blue!
Keeping with the Shabby Chic theme, I fell in LOVE with these linens. They are from one of the most amazing linen companies called Taylor Linens. They still carry them, so I will link them!
I was originally looking for a daybed but I couldn’t find one that I loved, so we took a twin bed and flipped it sideways! I love the trundle for sleepovers! The print above my bed is called “Bicycling through Paris.” How wonderful does that sound? Sigh.
My bookshelves with some of my favorite books…
and this fabulous replica phone that matches my bed perfectly! (It comes in a bunch of colors!)
If I had to pick the heart of my room, it would be my desk. This is where I spend almost all of my waking hours. Sewing, drawing, designing…
I LOVE how it has the cork board on the back of it so I can pin up notes and pictures. There are so many cute tacks on Etsy these days! These are the ones I have:
Also on my desk is my sewing machine. I’ve had it since I was 8. It’s been amazing, and is really affordable. Advice, if you or your child wants to learn how to sew, get a real machine and not a “kid” one. It’s made all the difference!
Next to my desk is my rolling cart that I’ve found is a necessity if you are a pack rat like me! It’s from Michael’s and I LOVE it!! It keeps me organized and I can wheel it anywhere in the room.
A close up view…
Some more desk decorations, also from Michael’s.
Most of my little trinkets come from Michael’s. It’s my favorite place and I am always finding the best treasures! Like these rose goblets and sparkly winter deer…
And my blush pink typewriter and Paris day planner!
When I’ve had a long day and just want to relax, my hugglepod is where I go to read! I love my little swing 🙂 They don’t have this exact one anymore, but I’m going to link to a similar one below in case you are interested!
And what room would be complete without an American Girl doll collection?
I spend many hours on this cozy rug dressing them and styling their hair to perfection!
So there you have it! My Shabby Chic Paris room tour. I hope you enjoyed it! If you have any questions let me know here or on Instagram @maidenkindly. Also, I would LOVE if you could subscribe to the blog so that I can notify you the minute a new post comes out! Have the BEST day! Love, Mk
